Featured Procedure
LASIK is a popular laser eye surgery used to correct common vision problems such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. The goal of LASIK is to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses by reshaping the cornea—the clear, front part of the eye—so that light focuses properly on the retina.
During this procedure, a thin flap is created on the surface of the cornea using a laser. The flap is gently lifted, and the underlying corneal tissue is reshaped with precise pulses of light. The flap is then repositioned, where it naturally adheres without the need for stitches.
LASIK is often a quick outpatient procedure that typically takes less than 30 minutes. Most patients notice improved vision within a day or two, with minimal discomfort and a short recovery period. While LASIK has a high success rate, it may not be suitable for everyone. A thorough eye exam and consultation can help determine if you’re a good candidate.
