Meet Dr. Leslie Garay
Dr. Garay is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the head of the Garay Eye Care & Surgery Center. She obtained her medical degree from Rutgers Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. Following her ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson, she received additional fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the esteemed University of California, San Diego Shiley Eye Center. Dr. Garay is an active member of the Refractive Surgery Alliance, a renowned organization committed to advancing vision correction surgery through education, collaboration, and patient-centered care. In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, she is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and Florida Medical Association. Through these affiliations, she remains actively involved in professional development and the advancement of high standards in ophthalmic care.
After completing her fellowship training, Dr. Garay served as a clinical instructor at the renowned Wills Eye Hospital, where she helped train residents. She later relocated to Hawaii, where she served as a comprehensive ophthalmologist for Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Garay’s areas of clinical interest encompass corneal and anterior segment pathology. She possesses considerable expertise in various surgical techniques, including refractive cataract surgery, pterygium management, as well as the utilization of lasers.
